THE END OF SUMMER

Ah summer the time of freedom.  Staying up all night and sleeping all day.  Swimming pools, amusement parks, camping, and friends all symbolize the joys of freedom.  Alas, all good things must come to an end.  As we reach the end of summer people wish it could last forever.  They dread turning back to alarm clocks, homework, and teachers.  Everyone has their last big fling before summer ends.  It could be a whole day of movies.  Spending all day at some amusement park, water parks, boating, or just spending time with all your close friends.  The weather becomes cold and we miss the sunshine and warmth.  Do not fret however, after the school year ends there will be another one to enjoy.  The end of summer maybe coming, but if you think about how fast time goes, it'll seem like the begining is just around the corner.

NEW PEOPLE

You meet new people on a daily basis.  You may know them from a class or something like that, but you never really talk to them.  You begin a new job and you are surrounded by new people.  Not knowing what they are talking about or who.  You dont know any of their names and frankly they don't know yours.  Then you meet someone else who is in your posistion and you make the effort to be their friend.  You talk and laugh and do silly things.  Soon its like you have known each other for ages.  The best thing about meeting new people is how easy it is to become friends.  When you hit it off and become friends forever.  It's funny to think that you started off meeting by being a new person.

FRIENDS

Friends are the kind of people who are always there for you.  They are like brothers and sisters. You can trust them to give you advice.  Give you support when you're feeling down.  Back you up when your confidence is lacking.  To have friends you got to be a friend.  You need to be all of these things to everyone.  Making new friends is supper amazing as well.  When you meet someone new you get super excited and when you get talking and things click it only gets better and better.  If a friend moves it just plain sucks.  Sure you can stay in contact and chat on the phone, but the only downer is not being able to see them.  When you do however, it's a great day.  You catch up all night and can't help smiling while you talk and catch up.  With all the friends you have some come and some go.  The ones who leave you're glad you met and learned things from.  The ones that stay are ones that will be there for a long time.  They will always be there and will always be a part of your life.  Never let your friends go.  They are one of the best things in life.

WORK

Ah the feeling of your first job.  You get this sense of euphoria.  When you find out you're schedule you get even more excited!  You can't wait to start and everything is wonderful.  Then you get to the night before you start your first job and you start to panic.  What happens to all my free time?  Am I going to know anyone there?  Will they be nice to me?  What if I mess up an order?  What happens when I get yelled at?  How mean are the bosses?  Will I do a good job?  Will I be terrible?  You wake up and are in a state of anxiety, stress, and worry.  You dread when your shift starts.  You wish you could go back and stop it from happening.  Sadly the time comes for your first shift to begin.  You enter the building with no idea where to go or what to do.  Someone soon finds you and shows you around.  You nod your head and try not to look to nervous in front of the boss.  Then they assign someone to help you and you say hi and wait in silence.  While other employees chat among themselves you stay in your own spot looking out for customers and get familiar with all the different buttons and functions of the machine in front of you.  Customers come and you put on a smile and a happy go lucky attitude. You sound like a broken record after a while and soon you're going through the motions.  You keep looking at the clock wanting nothing more then for time to go faster.  After what seems like forever it is finally time to count your till and get out.  Someone helps you with your till and shows you what to do with it.  You begin to smile saying to yourself how it wasn't so bad for a first day.  You say goodnight to fellow employees and they say goodnight as well.  You go on home and feel good to get that first day over with.  You count on doing better when you go back.  You get back home smelling of fries and grease and you collapse on a comfortable chair glad to have work over with for the day.
